VISIT.

Redux means "to be brought back" or "revived," and we think that's exactly what happened after buying this town bar on a whim in February 2020.

The building at 414 Broadway was originally built as a simple, single-story wood frame in 1879 until being rebuilt in 1885 as a two-story brick structure constructed using Larned bricks. From 1879 to 1967, it housed three generations of the Row's family bakery. During that time, it burned down in a fire caused by one of the bakery's ovens and was then rebuilt to its current footprint and existing structure today (fire damage can still be seen on some of the original ceiling tiles!).

Its more recent history and our personal experience with 414 Broadway was the treasured neighborhood bar, the "Back Door," owned and run by Tony Lemuz. It was a place we loved for its frosty beer mugs, shuffleboard table, old country tunes, and inclusive atmosphere. When we heard of its closing, we jumped at the opportunity -- every small town needs a place to go for a cold beer with friends.

Spanning four years and three levels, the building has been completely transformed in an extensive renovation project. With an aim at preserving historic fixtures* rather than just replacing and white-boxing, it is a project we are extremely proud of and hope that it will bring our small town community together.

Come in and toast to the rich history of our past and all of the fun memories that have yet to be made in a very special space. â€‹â€‹

*Some original fixtures that were kept include the refinished shuffleboard table, concrete flooring, tin ceiling tiles, doors, areas of exposed wood paneling behind plaster walls, original bricks used throughout, exterior columns, and of course, the beloved basement diver's helmet and Coors sign mounted above the back patio.
